Around The Belly Button - Never a good idea a man looks very feminine with a tattoo around his belly button. It is always a bad idea whether its a sun or a tribal design there is no way to make this nightmare tattoo placement manly. A large man may place a Buddha tattoo on his stomach with the designs belly button being his own,not cute.
Around The Nipple - Around the nipple is a super feminine place to get tattooed and would not be advisable to any gentleman trying to keep his man card. Again you may see the flaming sun or the ever present tribal tattoo design. Tattooing around the nipple only gets a pass when the entire chest is tattooed. Any tattoo design around the nipple that is free standing is a strict no no.
Hip Area - There are few things worse than seeing a man with a tattoo on his hip. No matter the subject matter of the tattoo the placement makes it ridiculous. Only as part of a full leg tattoo would a hip tattoo on a man be acceptable. Even then, a better placement for the tattoo design may have been the thigh.
Lower Back - The classic tramp stamp is no place for a man to be getting tattooed. The placement is decidedly feminine and no matter the design will always look like a female tattoo. The only time a man should have his lower back tattooed is if it is part of a larger tattoo covering the whole back.
