Traditionally tribal tattoos were for numerous reasons. Wanting to honor their ancestors who they believe were of a certain descent, they have the tattoo to correspond to find out the tribe which they originally thought their ancestor was from, was only a guess because there was either no literature about it or no-one around who could remember.

Classically designed using rich flowing black lines and curves, tribal tattoos are very appealing to the eye and represent a strong flowing image that is particularly attractive. It is because of this most people will first go for a tribal tattoo in place of something a bit more sentimental. Aside from anything else, the meaning will probably not be known by anyone they come across and unless they just decide they hate it after having it done; it is much less likely that they'll regret it because of a change of circumstances - let's face it, it isn't like having a name tattooed, is it.
